Jesus’ last command on earth was to go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything that he had commanded (Matthew 28:19-20).
At Castlehold, in response to this command of Jesus, believers who are wanting to follow and obey Jesus in every aspect of their lives are baptised by being fully immersed under water.
Baptism is a visual sign to everyone and has a particular meaning – it speaks of what has happened in the life of a believer in Jesus that; as they go below the water that they have died to sin and all that is wrong in their lives and as they come up out of the water this speaks of the new life they have with God the Father, through His Son Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit.
If you have not seen a baptism like this before we always welcome lots of visitors at these services and you would be very welcome too. If you are a Christian and are considering being baptised please do have a chat with Adrian Redfearn, our minister
